Board of Directorís Meeting, Nov. 1, 2010


CALL TO ORDER:Diane Sachs called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.Members present were Louise Sperr, Diane Sachs, Sherry Troeger, Fern Dunbar, Larry Slutsky. Cooie Dampman, Betty Jackson, Kevin Lane, Sharon Beran, Sue Fardette, Mary Thomas, Steve Sulzby, Baum Harris, and John Killian. ††No one was absent.


MINUTES:Minutes were accepted after this suggestion: Put discussion of decisions made into the minutes.


CORRESPONDENCE/CHARITY:Mary sent out two cards.$21.65 was collected for the Womenshelter.


TREASURERíS REPORT: Our checkbook balance is $10,179.68.


SANCTIONS: The board agreed with the dates suggested by Diane for the next unit games.They will be Jan.9th and Feb. 13th.There was a discussion about the date of the Jan. dinner meeting: Should the date be changed from Mon. Jan. 3rd to Wed. Jan. 5th because some members canít make the first date.Kevin made a motion that we have the Jan. dinner meeting on Mon. Jan. 3rd at Preveza, where we met last year, seconded by Sue.The motion passed.

REFRESHMENTS: The board discussed Aprilís request for a change in her arrangements.Kevin made a motion that we ask April to prepare the food for the January unit game and we provide the dessert.It was seconded by Fern.Motion carried.


SECTIONAL:Baum reported that we can accommodate 30 extra tables.This will cost $1350 for all 4 days plus utilities, which could come to maybe $100. Approximate costs for directors could be $6000, caddies, $500, tables and chairs, $200, advertising, $700, sanctions, $500.We could make a profit of $6000 to $7000.Baum has somebody taking care of the food.We will have hot food for between-session breaks.Since we will be breaking at different times on Sunday, we will put out cold cuts for sandwiches.Steve reported that we will have 40 tables arriving at 8AM on Thursday.Hank and Paul will help him set up.


IN COORDINATOR:Diane reported that classes are going fine.


AWARDS:No report.


PUBLICITY: No report.


OLD BUSINESS:Club members playing the unit game in the back room have been charged $5 for some time in an effort to draw more people to the games.This effort has been generally unsuccessful.Kevin made a motion to change the fee back to $10, seconded by Sue.The motion carried.


NEW BUSINESS: John has offered to assume the presidency for next year.Diane said the she thinks that the vice-president should assume the presidency the next year.

Louise, Sue, Steve, Cooie, and Sharon will no longer be on the board next year.John will send a letter to each new member, thanking them, and telling them a little about the board.†††††††††††††††††††† ††††††††††††††


ALACBU: Kevin reported that there will be a cruise regional next April, going to Mexico on the Princess line, leaving April 28th.Contact the agent on the internet if you are interested.


ADJOURNMENT:The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 PM. ††The next board meeting will be on Dec. 6th.The unit game will be Nov. 7th.s
