More details are available in attached files.

REFRESHMENTS: ††Numerous board members submitted opinions on whether April should be retained to continue to cater the unit games. No decision was made except to wait and view her efforts and meals through May.April will be approached about providing the unit with a menu of what she wants to cater for the May unit game. There was also lots of discussion on what to do with the leftover food and who actually owns it, the unit or April.Fern made a motion, seconded by Sharon that the unit decides what to do with the leftovers.Motion carried.Mary reported that George might be approached to do our unit games.Sherry says that April was satisfied with a $240 budget for each unit game. She also said that the chicken (in February) was not liked, but the lasagna (in March)was.Kevin discussed his concerns about whether the awards banquet will have enough of a food quality to impress our attendees and that perhaps the budget for it should be increased and maybe April shouldn't do it every month.Larry mentioned that he thought that the thoughtfulness and diligence of the person who was doing the meal mattered more than the amount that was spent on it.

SECTIONAL:Mark reported that the sanctioning for the unit game for the dates of November 11, 12, 13 and 14 is processing.Baum also is being approached about sharing revenue and responsibilities by providing the club facility for use during the sectional.Mark made a motion, seconded by Sharon to raise the sectional card fees to $11.This motion was tabled until the following month in order to get some cost-profit analysis by Kevin and Donna.

IN COORDINATOR:Diane reported that she instructs the Tuesday class with lessons on conventions while Hank instructs same with lessons in card play.

AWARDS:Fern stated that everything's ready for the April presentation of the annual recognitions of the accomplishments of the unit members.

PUBLICITY: No report as Sue was absent.

ALACBU:†† Kevin reported that tournament directors are implementing a new policy of "no warning" for audible cell phone violations. That a penalty will be applied to the score of offenders with "no previous warning."He also reported that the October regional will be in Marina del Rey.

OLD BUSINESS:Steve wanted to hear about how well the unit games have been attended since the board voted to have board members pay the card fees during these events. It was recollected that there were three paying board members in February and six paying board members in March.Diane reported that there was no response from the president of the Dana Harbor club for the challenge from our unit in "Battle of the Bridge Clubs."Mark wondered what had happened to the duplicating machine idea that the club had been investigating.Donna responded with information that the club had no funds to follow through with this idea and then proceeded to list how much this machine might cost from different sources.

NEW BUSINESS: After an interruption by Leslie directing Monday night's NLM game, asking about fees and proceedings, it was discussed whether that session could be an open game. The board was then surveyed about how many members would participate if it was re-dedicated as an open game, once a month.Five members indicated that they would play.

ADJOURNMENT:7:05PM ††the motion was made by Kevin and seconded by Mark.Motion passed.

Respectfully submitted:Steven F. Sulzby
