OLD
BUSINESS: Further
discussion was held as to whether Unit 557 should withdraw our support for the
ALACBU Scholarship Committee. Unit 557
contributes $750.00 to the committee towards college scholarships for the year
at various intervals. Steve Sulzby felt
that we should support a partial donation to the committee for the Long Beach
Regional. During this regional, Unit 557
has an event named for us. Donna Wenberg
felt that the funds shouldn’t be allotted for college scholarships, rather our
donations should go towards Bridge related events such as Bridge camps. After the discussion was completed, Donna
Wenberg made a motion to abandon our monetary support towards the ALACBU Scholarship Committee in the future. Jan Wagner seconded. Motion carried.
The response from the ads in the Long
Beach Grunion has been poor. There has
been one call so far. The ads run
$100.00 per month and we started the ads in May. We will review the results in August and
decide if we should continue publishing the ads.
NEW
BUSINESS: None.
ADJOURNMENT: Frank Seipp Jr. made a motion to
adjourn the meeting. Barbara Balowitz
seconded. Motion carried. The
meeting was adjourned at 6:58 pm.
The next monthly meeting will be on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 6:00 pm.
