MINUTES: Steve Sulzby made a motion to approve
the minutes as read. Frank Bartlett seconded. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S
REPORT: The current total assets as of July 31, 2006 was $6,130.50
that reflected a negative change of
$1,226.01 from last year at this time.
The net income as of July 31, 2006 was $299.21.
HOSPITALITY/CHARITY: Frank Bartlett reported that $100.00
was collected from both boxes. Get Well cards were sent to John Killian and
Paul Reichenbach.
SANCTIONS: Irma Johnson reported that the
sanctions were made for the rest of 2006.
There will be unit games on October 22, 2006 and November 5, 2006. The Unit Charity/General Meeting game will be held on December 3rd,
2006.
REFRESHMENTS: Jan Wagner and Frank Seipp Jr.
volunteered to coordinate the luncheon in September.

& AWARDS: No reports

COORDINATOR: Steve Sulzby reported that the attendance for
the Tuesday afternoon lecture was down.
Approximately 7-9 players are attending compared to 12-15 at previous
sessions. Frank Bartlett will substitute
for Steve while Steve is away for the next two weeks. Frank will continue to conduct sessions for
interested players from 12:45 – 1:15 at the monthly unit games.

There were two new members this period
and three transfers in to whom Irma will send welcoming letters. Curt and Lynn Johnson became Life Masters,
Ruth White became a Bronze Life Master, and Steve Rowe and Mark Tang became
Silver Life Masters this period.
OLD
BUSINESS: Jan Wagner reported that the ads in the Long Beach Grunion
and Downtown Gazette will expire in August.
Future ads in these papers will not be continued.
NEW
BUSINESS: The Board
members decided that it would be a good idea to place a sign at the Bridge
Center to announce the Swiss Team format at the September 17th Unit
game. Rosemary Ford will make the sign.
Frank Bartlett also suggested that a caddy be hired for this event. The Board suggested that $25.00 be allotted
for the caddy’s fee. Frank Bartlett
moved and Irma Johnson seconded that we hire a caddy for $25.00. Motion carried.
It was also suggested that a gift be
sent to John Killian as he is recovering from knee surgery. Irma Johnson volunteered to send John a book
by Mike Lawrence on Swiss Teams. Frank
Bartlett moved and Steve Sulzby seconded that this gift be sent to John. Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT: Steve Sulzby moved and Frank Seipp Jr.
seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried. The meeting was adjourned at
6:40 pm. The next monthly meeting will
be on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 6:00 pm.
