SECTIONAL:† Mark and John reported that the flyers were in Vegas for the nationals.† More will be distributed locally, especially at the regionals.† John will check into the cost differential for inserting a flyer into the Bridge News versus the regular ad.
IN COORDINATOR:† Attendance is slightly down. This is usually a seasonal occurrence.
ROSTER:† no report
AWARDS:† Kevin distributed a mockup of the address labels that will be awarded to anyone coming in 1st at the sectional.† He will do some more work on them.† It was discussed that mailing the labels would be the easiest way to handle them.† The possibility of having them on hand the 2nd and 3rd day for pick might also work for players who return to play again.
PUBLICITY:† Sue showed us a clipping that John cut from the Sun Newspapers about the free Easy Bridge at the club.† Keith Hafen is looking into the possibility of having the picture and article put into the Bridge Magazine about our charity donation.
OLD BUSINESS:† We discussed the seven options regarding the Bridge News financial problems.† The board voted to recommend the option (2) that had the papers available at the clubs with a caveat that a member has the option to pay to have the paper mailed to them.† Donna has concerns over the extra papers that might be all over the club but sees this as the best alternative for distribution.
NEW BUSINESS:† Bernard made a suggestion to let the board members play at the unit games.† This would be a show of appreciation for their work and encourage other people to be on the board.† Donna made a motion to table this and John second it.
ADJOURNMENT:† The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 pm
NEXT MEETING:† September 8, 2008.
